Articulations

Imperfect Samples' philosophy is to record naturally, as opposed to splicing elements together. Treat this instrument like a live piano; if you'd like a different sound, use EQ or change the mic perspective.

For added versatility and realism, and depending on your chosen version, the Walnut Concert Grand contains patches with naturally recorded articulations:

Walnut Concert Grand (up to 25 layers): Standard instrument intended for most uses
Steinway Fantasy Grand: Only pedal down samples for a highly resonant, 'full' sound
Steinway Staccato: Natural staccato articulations recorded in multiple layers
Steinway Crotchet: Natural 'long crotchet' articulations recorded in multiple layers
Steinway FX: Various piano effects, including Lid Sounds, Direct Strings Glissandos, Body Wood Knocks, and many more.

Unlike many sampled pianos, these articulations have not been spliced together, but instead recorded naturally. Whilst it's possible to use the standard Walnut Concert Grand main patch for all your playing needs, these natural articulation patches are also included. For example, if you would like to perform a staccato-only passage, you may prefer to use the dedicated 'Steinway Staccato' patch as opposed to the main Walnut Concert Grand patch. Whilst both patches can play very nice sounding staccatos, using the natural articulations will result in a true-to-life end result.
